2.1 Specifying An Image Fission has been designed to be used with a single image. You need to inform the Fission applet of your image's location through the Image parameter. The following example shows a sample Image parameter:
| | | <param name="Image" value="snow.jpg"> <param name="ImageStyle" value="1"> <param name="ImageStyleStrength" value="65">
| |
| |
The Image parameter is simply the name of your image file. We recommend placing your image file in the same location as the Fission applet, so you would normally not include prefix this image name with a path.
Any JPG, GIF or BMP image file can be used. However, the main part of the image filename must not exceed 8 characters.
For the best results, you should also set the applet's Width and Height parameters to the same dimensions as the image you are using. In the following example, the image is 223 pixels high and 243 pixels wide so the applet size has been configured with the same dimensions:
| | | <param name="Image" value="snow.jpg"> <param name="ImageStyle" value="1"> <param name="ImageStyleStrength" value="65">
| |
| |
If you're not sure of your image's dimensions, load it up in a picture editing program (like Microsoft Paint or Paint Shop Pro) and take a look at the picture properties. Alternatively, if you are using Windows XP, simply right-click on the picture in Windows Explorer, select the 'Properties' menu option, and then click on the 'Summary' tab to see the dimensions.
2.2 Applying A Graphical Style A number of different graphical styles can be applied to the main image. Here is a quick summary of the numbers we use to identify them and a small sample of each graphical style:

Use the ImageStyle parameter value to set the graphical style:
| | | <param name="Image" value="snow.jpg"> <param name="ImageStyle" value="1"> <param name="ImageStyleStrength" value="65">
| |
| |
2.3 Altering The Style Strength The ImageStyleStrength parameter value represents the percentage to use to darken the style with. This value ranges through -100 to +100. Positive values are darker, negative values are lighter (Note: when specifying positive values, do not prefix them with a '+').
The following example shows the ImageStyleStrength parameter value being set to 65%:
| | | <param name="Image" value="snow.jpg"> <param name="ImageStyle" value="1"> <param name="ImageStyleStrength" value="65">
